Enterprising founder Edmundo C. Montañes, together with his wife Lolita P. Montañes, formally established Philcare Manpower Services in 1984. Prior to this, the couple had successfully engaged in various business ventures. Initially registered as a single proprietorship manufacturing janitorial supplies, the company later expanded into janitorial and manpower services, along with related offerings such as carpet shampooing, pest control, landscaping, and gardening.

With the support of experienced consultants specializing in building maintenance, Philcare’s entry into janitorial services quickly gained momentum. Clients consistently recognized the company as one of the best in the field, guided by its core principle: “Service to the client as they like it.”

Today, after more than 42 years in the industry and over ₱5 billion in completed contracts, Philcare—now led by Edmundo alongside his children, Carmi and Mc Edwin—continues to grow, with over ₱300 million in active contracts. Over the years, the company has evolved its organizational structure and processes to adapt to changing industry demands.

Philcare’s commitment to social responsibility is reflected in its workforce, providing employment to 52 supervisors and 2,279 janitorial staff, along with office personnel.

As it moves forward, Philcare aims to expand further, taking on more contracts and continuing to demonstrate its capability to compete with the best in the industry.
